Tension and anticipation has been mounting at Duckworths tobacco shop for the huge rugby match at Twickenham this weekend that will be England v Wales in the Six Nations!

Games between the two are quite common in occurrence but there’s a special atmosphere surrounding this one. Perhaps it’s the inconsistent form of Wales in the tournament so far which has the bookmakers swayed or maybe it’s down to England looking like the great team they once were again after a barnstorming win against Ireland. Whatever the case, it’s sure to be an explosive affair.

The bookmakers have England as the favourites for the match because of home advantage and a recent resurgence with ex-captain turned pundit Matt Dawson saying:  “Oh my goodness, what a game that is going to be at Twickenham. England and Wales fixtures just do not change. Imagine how those England players are preparing themselves after that drubbing last year in Cardiff.

“30-3 is just going to be ringing around their heads all week long. One thing that sticks out for me is the previous match – the England Ireland match. That was World Cup semi-final, World Cup final level, I’m not joking.

“Who’s going to win? England are gonna win.”

Wales star Alex Cuthbert was just as passionate about his team’s chances when he said: “All we can do is win and, depending on how the game is going, if we’re miles ahead or if it’s close we have just got to do enough to win the game.”

Alex Hibbard, Wales hooker, has also said: “It has been consistently good and England have the highest percentage (for lineout success) in the championship.

“They have the Northampton connection which seems to be working, so it’ll be tough to break down. We go into the game with our focus on a 100 per cent lineout and Alun Wyn Jones is back. He is inspirational and to have him back in the side is superb. He’s a flat-out psycho!

Were Wales to come out on top in the fixture, it would mean that they’d be well on their way to becoming the first team in history to win the Six Nations three times in a row. So, why not join in the cheering for Wales with us for this Sunday? It’s going to be a massive and hopefully great game and win.
