Calling all rugby enthusiasts, prepare yourself as we are only five weeks away from the Rugby World Cup 2015! Testing, preparations, observations and robust training programmes have been going on for the last year and now we can countdown just five more weeks until we can see all the hard work in action.

Now is a crucial time for all teams to perform their very best, as this is the time where team managers will be deciding who makes the cut and who will be missing out when it comes the 18th September 2015.

Wales’ backs has their chance this weekend just gone, to showcase their talents and hope they gave a performance that would give them an opportunity of a lifetime. Warren Gatland will be making the decision to cut down his squad at the end of August to just 31, but it’s not as simple as you may think.

Some players will lose their place this week as Gatland will remove ten players from the team following the training camp currently commencing in North Wales. Once the time comes to pick his final selection, Gatland will have a few more tricky decisions to make. Does he go for 17 forwards and 14 backs, or perhaps opt for a different variable?

Wales played against Ireland at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday and were beaten, making Gatland’s choice of players even more difficult. As the team stepped off the train from Cardiff on Monday afternoon, 2,000 people lined the streets of the town to see their idols emerge in front of them.

A further 5,000 people crowded Eirias Park to watch them train through a controlled match between the two squads, which would determine Gatland’s final official Rugby World Cup squad. It’s no surprise that Saturday’s defeat against Ireland had an effect on the player’s outlook of the final team decisions coming up. However as their training continues for only a couple more weeks, now is the time to kick themselves into gear and prepare for the massive opportunity they do not want to miss out on.

The first game for the big event will see England v Fiji at Twickenham Stadium, but below are the upcoming games for the month of September:
